What to expect
The floor is busy and the demonstrations draw crowds. Mornings are quieter if you want to talk to the printers properly.
Food and drink
Add what is available on site and the hours. Note the nearest options outside if there is nothing indoors.
Paying at stalls
Most artisans accept UPI and cash. Add whether cards work and where the nearest ATM is.
Children
Add whether the children’s printing session needs booking. Note that dye stains, so old clothes are wise.
Cloakroom and toilets
Add whether bags can be left and where the facilities are, including accessible ones.
Getting around the floor
Step-free access. The exhibition, marketplace and workshop rooms are all reachable without steps. Confirm the route from the car park once the venue is fixed.
Wheelchairs. Available on request. Write to us in advance and we will have one at the entrance.
Seating. Chairs are placed along the demonstration floor so you can watch a full repeat sitting down.
Assistance. Tell us what you need before you come and we will arrange it. Nothing is too small to ask.
Before you come
Entry to the exhibition and marketplace is free. Workshops are ticketed separately and usually sell out, so book before you come.
Yes, throughout. Please ask a printer before photographing them at work — most are happy to be filmed and several will explain what they are doing while you record.
That is the point of the marketplace. Every stall is held by the person who made what is on it, and they set their own prices. Most accept UPI as well as cash.
Two hours covers the exhibition and marketplace at a comfortable pace. Add three more if you are doing a workshop, and come in the morning if you want to talk to the printers without a crowd.
Yes. There is a free drop-in printing session for ages six to twelve on the last day, and the demonstrations hold most children’s attention. Dye stains, so dress accordingly.
